Pitsco Education and STEM in Schools announce partnership to launch global K-12 STEM Competition and Professional Development Center
Pittsburg, KS — STEM In Schools and Pitsco Education are excited to announce a partnership to launch an innovative, global STEM initiative aimed at inspiring and preparing the next generation of STEM leaders. This collaboration will establish an annual K-12 STEM competition open to students worldwide and a new International Professional Development Center in Central Texas, dedicated to equipping educators with the tools they need to deliver impactful STEM experiences in their own classrooms. “The future of work will require every adult employee to be highly STEM-literate, and the best way to create that literacy is to start early – with K-12 students – and to do so via engaging, collaborative competitions that allow students to practice essential skills like problem-solving and teamwork,” said Matt Frankenbery, CEO, Pitsco Education.
STEM
The STEM In Schools Competition will bring together students from across the globe – including the U.S., Latin America, and Europe – to participate in hands-on challenges in Robotics, Dragsters, and Drones. The event is designed to be accessible to students from all backgrounds, addressing barriers such as location, funding, and resources that have traditionally limited participation in large-scale STEM competitions. By providing an open platform, this competition gives students the opportunity to showcase their talents, creativity, and critical thinking skills on an international stage, engaging in experiences that may open doors to future STEM careers. "The STEM In Schools Competition was created to bridge opportunity gaps and bring the joy of STEM to students everywhere," said Eduardo Galindo, CEO, STEM In Schools. “By partnering with Pitsco Education, we can provide students with engaging, career-focused challenges that inspire them to explore STEM in meaningful ways.”
To Further Support Educators
The International Professional Development Center will open in Central Texas, providing teachers with a fully immersive training environment. This state-of-the-art facility replicates a classroom setting, allowing teachers to experience STEM Lab setups and instructional techniques firsthand. Through hands-on workshops, educators will learn how to implement STEM materials effectively, gaining confidence in both subject matter and teaching methods.
Upon completing their training, instructors will earn a STEM In Schools STEM certification, preparing them to create impactful learning experiences in their own classrooms. With 36 years of experience in STEM education worldwide, EGB4 Technologies, a key partner in this initiative, brings unparalleled expertise and a commitment to inspiring educators and students to reach their full potential in STEM. "Teachers are essential to student success, especially in STEM fields," said Eric Simmons, Sr. Sales Director, Pitsco Education. “We’re proud to partner with STEM In Schools to support educators through the International Professional Development Center, where they can learn firsthand and successfully implement a STEM program in their school.”
